Sheep-Chic

Do you ever walk in a store and see an item that catches your eye?  Do you then speed walk over to the item because the excitement is building?  Do you finally get close to the item only to realize that it resembles a sheep?  Well...if you are me you do.  We had been window shopping in Chicago all day, and at first I was a little disappointed that the item I had been most excited about ALL day closely resembled a sheep.

When the vest sat in my closet for a whole week before I pulled it out, I was becoming more and more convinced it was a bad buy.  Then last Sunday, I needed a little extra warmth and naturally I pulled the large sheep looking cotton ball item out of my closet, and after looking through these pictures I could not be happier about my purchase.  All day it was as if my sheepy vest was whispering a little "I told you so."  I mean who doesn't want to look sheepy-chic?  Happy Saturday...J

Stand In or Stand Out

So I am learning a little something about my old town of Nashville...."old town"....sob...pinch me...did we really move?  In Nashville, you can kind of wear whatever you want without standing out.  It is not like New York City, where you can walk down the street wearing lingerie, combat boots, black lipstick, and a baseball cap without someone batting an eye.  But with all the colleges, hipsters, and music industry types in Nashville, people just kind of do their own thing.

So imagine my surprise, our first Sunday brunch in South Bend.  I proudly teetered in to le Peep in my sky high wedges, a vintage, light blue, long, silk dress thing, a large, burnt orange, comfy knit sweater, and some jewels.  And immediately I could tell some of the fellow diners did not approve.  I think it was the vintage, light blue, long, silk dress thing that threw them, but who knows.  I did not ask, mostly because I like to wear what I want.  And since in my new job I am required to dress up a tiny bit more than I would prefer, I like to let loose on the weekends.

So pajama-ish leggings, a men's jean shirt, a camo vest, killer shoes, and a rockin hat.  Yes...yes I will.  So tell me...what is your favorite way to stand out?  Happy Wednesday....J

South Bend Blues

Happy Tuesday Loves!!  Before you get all worried that I am suffering from the South Bend Blues (thank you by the way if you were a little concerned for my well-being), I am simply sharing some shades of B-L-U-E I wore this past weekend.

I really felt like all day Sunday I looked like a lazy bum, but as we headed out to take some pictures of my sad little outfit, I threw this big blue scarf on and I think it took my outfit from zero to hero in like a second.  So I am just sitting here admiring these blues (blue jeans, blue scarf, blue eyes, blue windows, and greenish-blue sweater) that made for some comfy, cozy perfection this weekend.  Can you not tell anyone if I wear this look again this weekend?  See you soon...J
